In Group 2018 Service Academy Gender Relations Survey

Details

Results of a multiple correspondence analysis of the 2018 Service Academy Gender Relations Survey revealed that alcohol involvement (by either the perpetrator or the victim) is a defining feature of unwanted sexual contact (USC) situations. Results of this brief compare USC situations in which alcohol was involved with those in which alcohol was not involved. Note: Prior to 2025, OPA research products used the term “gender” to describe men and women. These groups were defined using survey items and/or administrative data categories for “male” and “female”; therefore, references to gender should be understood to mean “sex”.
