This biennial survey is conducted to provide the Department of Defense (DoD) with reliable information about young adults’ education and career plans. Summary findings from the Career Plans Survey are provided to public officials. By understanding young adults’ plans and aspirations, public officials can do a better job providing services and allocating resources.
JAMRS: Market Research
JAMRS is an official Department of Defense program responsible for joint marketing communications, and market research and studies. Our market research examines the factors critical to the success of sustaining an All-Volunteer Force. JAMRS research also informs Service recruiting commands, federal government agencies, and Congress to help ensure recruiting efforts are directed in the most efficient and beneficial manner. Our marketing communications programs help increase awareness and broaden people's awareness of the opportunities presented by military service.
JAMRS Is Currently Conducting the Following Surveys:
The Futures Survey is the Department of Defense's official source of youths’ (ages 16 to 24) education and career plans. This study also explores the perceptions, beliefs, capabilities, and attitudes of American youth as they relate to joining the Military and other future plans.
The Influencer Survey is the Department of Defense's official source of adult influencers of youth. The survey asks influencers about the likelihood to recommend military service, education, and other career options.
