This report describes the sampling and weighting methodologies for the January 2011 Status of Forces of Reserve Component Members (January 11 SOFS-R). The first section describes the design and selection of the sample. Since the questionnaire was divided into three modules, all participants were asked to complete Module A questions while half of the participants were randomly selected to complete Module B, half of the participants were randomly selected to complete Module C, and half of the participants were randomly selected to complete Module D . The second section describes weighting and variance estimation for the three modules. The final section describes the calculation of response, location, and completion rates for the full sample and population subgroups by module.
