In addition to survey items (i.e., demographics, retention, satisfaction, tempo, stress, and readiness) used in all Status of Forces Surveys (SOFS), the June 2012 SOFS-A included items on deployments since September 11, 2001, impact of deployments, permanent change of station (PCS) moves, Military OneSource, and financial health. Items on the following topics were also included: satisfaction with aspects of military life, details on OPS/PERSTEMPO, details on readiness, military life, relatives serving in the Armed Forces, programs and services, commissaries and exchanges, education, milConnect Web site, health and well-being, health care, tobacco, attitudes toward drinking alcohol, military/civilian comparisons, child care, retirement, Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), housing, and repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" (DADT).
