The 2019 Workplace and Equal Opportunity Survey of Reserve Component Members (2019 WEOR) fulfills the Congressional mandate outlines in Title 10 USC 481 for quadrennial assessments of racial/ethnic relations in the Armed Forces. It was designed to assess self-reported experiences of, the climate surrounding, reporting, and policy effectiveness at preventing racial/ethnic harassment and discrimination in the military. The 2019 WEOR is the fourth of its kind administered to Reserve component members to meet this statutory requirements. It was conducted from August 19, 2019 to November 26, 2019.
Note: Prior to 2025, OPA research products used the term “gender” to describe men and women. These groups were defined using survey items and/or administrative data categories for “male” and “female”; therefore, references to gender should be understood to mean “sex”.
