The Reducing Military Spouse Civilian Unemployment: Projections report is based on the 2024 Survey of Active Duty Spouses (ADSS)’s civilian unemployment rate assumptions to estimate the number of active duty civilian spouses who are currently unemployed that would need to obtain employment in order to reduce civilian spouse unemployment by 25 percent, or by 5 percentage points from the 2024 ADSS result of 20% to approximately 15%. The report presents calculations of the estimation of the number of active duty civilian spouses who would need to obtain employment within demographic groups.
